Bio

I am from Long Valley, New Jersey. I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts and Bachelors of Science in Art Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.  I am currently pursuing my Master of Fine Arts at Louisiana State University.  My work has been exhibited in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Louisiana.

My work uses the childlike curiosity of looking and uncovering as metaphor for the searching we do as adults. As multi-tasking adults with responsibilities like car, job, apartment, friends, family, it’s hard to maintain the ability to be fully present and absorbed in a moment. My work is about looking and finding. I allow my figures to be totally fixated on something that has caught their attention, much like children.

The work is simultaneously a fictitious and autobiographical stream of thoughts defined by places and people. I draw people I know, but rather than portraits, their pictures stand for iconic watchers and seekers. They search for and observe things in their painted environments while I search for meaning in daily life.
